Meet Doctors Jim and Alice Ann Kelly

Dr. James H. Kelly, or Dr. Jim, was born and raised in Gastonia. He excelled in Gastonia's public schools and is an Eagle scout . After only three years of attending NC State University, he was accepted to the UNC School of Dentistry, where he received the Award for outstanding performance in Operative dentistry and was voted most outstanding student by Delta Sigma Delta. He was also a student instructor in Dental Anatomy. After graduating, Dr. Jim partnered with his father in private practice and also worked as a part time dentist at the Gaston County health department. Dr. Jim belongs to the Gaston Dental Association where he previously served as President and is a member of Spear study club.

Dr. Jim is married to Alice Ann Kelly, DDS, and has two children. When not spending time with his family, he enjoys hunting, fishing, and music. Jim's strong faith guides his life and his dental practice. He is a deacon at his church and enjoys mission work, having been to Mexico, Ecuador, and Haiti. Jim enjoys participating in the local MOM clinics and Give Kids a Smile programs. Jim's goal in his practice is to provide the best and latest services dentistry offers performed to perfection and done in a caring manner.

Dr. Alice Ann Beam Kelly grew up and attended school in Cherryville, NC. She received a BA in biological science from Pfeiffer University in Misenheimer, NC, where she was a junior marshal and graduated Summa Cum Laude. She received her doctorate in dental surgery from the UNC-Chapel Hill School of Dentistry, where she met her husband Dr. Jim Kelly. Dr. Alice Ann enjoyed working for the Gaston County Health department for a year after graduating from dental school. Working with all types of patients at the health department gave her a special appreciation for the needs of others. She enjoys family time with Dr. Jim and their two children and dogs, along with painting and crafting when time allows. She and Dr. Jim belong to the Gaston Dental Society and Spear study group and encourage each other to keep up with the best dentistry has to offer.

Alice Ann enjoys participating in the local Give Kids a Smile program where more than five million underserved children have received free oral health services over the last 13 years.
